Emile Durkheim (1858-1917) is a great social scientist and French Sociologist. He combined empirical research theory with sociological theory. He is often regarded as founder of French school of Sociology and an architect of modern sociology.
The father of sociology – August Comte (1798-1857) was a famous French philosopher. His established the fundamental philosophy of “positivism” which is majorly evolved from modern science in his famous book “Positive Philosophy”. It is also an attempt to remedy the social disorder caused by French Revolution. He is also the first philosopher of modern science.
